Menopause: When Does It Stop — and Does It Happen to Men Too?
Posted by WWB Staff on Jul 21st 2026
Hot flashes, brain fog, sleepless nights — and the question everyone asks: when does this thing stop?
Menopause isn't a single event — it's a transition that can stretch across a decade. Perimenopause often begins in the 40s (sometimes earlier), and symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, weight changes, and foggy thinking can last anywhere from a couple of years to ten or more. No wonder so many women want to know: when does it actually end, and what helps in the meantime?
And here's the part that surprises people: men go through a hormonal shift of their own. Often called andropause or "male menopause," it's a slower, quieter decline in testosterone that can show up as fatigue, low mood, poor sleep, muscle loss, and a fading drive. Different timeline, same story — hormones changing, and a body asking for support.
This Saturday's Wellness Workshop, "Menopause: When Does It Stop — and Does It Happen to Men Too?", led by Naturopath Connie Jacoby, walks through what's really happening hormonally for both women and men, how long the transition typically lasts, and the herbs, foods, and habits that make the whole journey smoother.
What you'll learn
- What's actually happening to your hormones in perimenopause, menopause, and beyond
- How long symptoms really last — and why it's so different from one woman to the next
- "Male menopause": how declining testosterone affects men's energy, mood, sleep, and strength
- Herbs with a long tradition of hormone support — black cohosh, sage, red clover, maca, and more
- Foods and daily habits that calm hot flashes, mood swings, and restless nights
- Natural ways to protect your bones, heart, and brain through the change
Whether you're in the thick of it, see it coming, or suspect the man in your life is going through his own version, this session will help you understand what's happening and what nature offers to ease the way. Bring your questions.
