Connie's Story
Connie Jacoby · Naturopath Health Consultant · 40+ years in healthcare
Hi, I'm Connie Jacoby. I've been drawn to helping people for as long as I can remember.
My roots are on our family farm in Randolph County, Missouri — one of the first five land grants here, established back in 1857. Life took me to Tennessee for a while, where I raised my children and worked as a general contractor, building log and custom homes. But when my father needed care, I came home to the farm to look after him.
Out in rural Missouri, the paths open to women were few — so at 45, I went back to school, one of the oldest students in my nursing class. I spent the next 25 years as a nurse, working through nearly every unit in the hospital: cardiac, med-surg, wherever I was needed. My time in psychiatric care taught me the lesson that shaped everything after: too often we treat the symptom and not the whole person, and folks come right back around the same turnstile.
I wanted to get to the root of things. I earned my certification as a medical aromatherapist, then studied naturopathy, and I found the approach I'd been looking for — working with the body and the wisdom of plants. In 2010 I opened the Aroma Spa Wellness Center, and in 2015 I founded Wise Women Botanicals to make and share the essential-oil blends and plant-based remedies I formulate myself. Every product carries my hand in it — no one else makes them.
What I believe
I believe your body is wonderfully made, and that it knows how to care for itself when we give it what it needs. Hippocrates said it best: let your food be your medicine. Plants come from the earth, and I believe they were placed here for our use — gentle, time-honored helpers that many people have reached for across generations.
My purpose is simple: to inform, educate, and help people care for their bodies in a natural way — and to do it affordably. It should never be expensive to be healthy. I never wanted this to be about selling anyone something they don't need; I wanted it to be about teaching, so people can learn, feel better, and pass that knowledge on to their own circle of family and friends.
So that's what I do, sixteen years and counting — handmade, plant-based, made with care, right here in Missouri.
Peace and Good Health,
Connie Jacoby
